The Sri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust has begun making plans for the Hemkund Yatra in response to this.
The Hemkund Sahib Dham is surrounded by a lot of snow this year, yet the weather is good. As a result, the army crew will begin clearing snow from Hemkund Sahib Dham’s path as early as April. With this, the trip can begin by May 22.
Brief History of Shri Hemkund Sahib
Sikhs hold Hemkund Sahib Yatra in the Himalayas in the greatest regard and consider it a significant site for their annual pilgrimage. The tenth and final Guru of the Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singh, is said to have meditated here for ten years in a past incarnation, according to Sikhism. The Dasam Granth, which was authored by Shri Guru Gobind Singh, is where Shri Hemkund Sahib is first referenced. It included his ideas as well as broader Sikhism’s future. But the hunt for this sacred site didn’t start until the 19th century. Pandit Tara Singh Narotam was able to locate it in the end in 1884. The well-known Sikh scholar Bhai Vir Singh deserves a lot of the credit for both the construction of this temple and its enduring popularity.
Due to its frequent mentions in both the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, Hindus also hold the Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara in the greatest regard. In fact, it’s said that Lord Laxmana, Lord Ram’s brother, and Rishi Medhasa both meditated here. Devotees visit a Lord Laxmana shrine close to Hemkund Sahib as part of a Hemkund Sahib Tour.
